Mission
Statement

The Video Game Development Club (VGDC) at UC Irvine is devoted to providing a community to student game developers.
Whether acting on an interest in the medium, or in pursuit of a long-term career, all are welcome.

We look to build each other up through workshops, crafting successful portfolios, and establishing lasting networks.
Each and every voice is valuable and contributes to making our games what they are.

I've never made games before...

That's okay! We offer an assortment of workshops to learn new game development skills. To get more hands-on experience, we also offer introductory development projects.

I've made a lot of games, how can VGDC help me?

Our events are a perfect place where you can network with other seasoned developers, especially our pitch projects. We also offer industry speakers at certain special events, so look forward to those!

I wanna work on a game, but there's so many roles...

Workshops can be a great place to find your development niche! Our seven departments cover many topics that give you an insight into what your work will look like under each role.
